Our lab manages the collection of Precambrian rocks, thin sections and microfossil slides, a spectroscopic database, and is equipped with:

  • Chemical lab for kerogen extraction, preparation of microscopic slides  of organic-walled microfossils and modern analog microorganisms, resin inclusions, and acetolysis experiments
  • FTIR Microspectroscopy lab for analyses of organics, microfossils and minerals (TENSOR 27 and HYPERION 2000 Bruker)
  • Raman Microspectroscopy lab for analyses of organics, microfossils and minerals (Renishaw InVIA)
  • Cell cultures lab
  • Microscopy lab (transmitted, reflected and polarizing light), inverted microscopy for micromanipulation, digital imaging and analyzes of spectroscopic data

and access to thin section facilities in the Geology Department, and confocal and electron microscopy at ULiege platform CAREM
